Guido’s in Cambridge is closing this week:-(

I found that out when I was there on Friday night. This is so sad– the bar/restaurant has existed at 13 Belmont St. next to the Cambridge/Watertown line since 1942.

According to staff, the landlord has raised the building’s rent and now it’s too expensive for the business to successfully operate there.

It seems like the bar has lots of regulars. I wasn’t one of them, but I was hoping to go there more often (my apartment is right across the street).

I wonder if anyone will move into this location with the higher rent. There’s already an empty storefront a few spots down.
